Etude House Follow Me Lip Tint

Posted in Etude House, Korean brands, lipbalm, lipstick, review by konglishbeauty on July 16, 2010

The latest product in the Etude House 2NE1 collection is a colour changing liptint balm called “Follow Me Lip Tint”. This is the type of tint which changes colour when exposed to air, much like the Smashbox O-Glow or Dior Lip Glow balms.

Ignore all the claims of it changing according to your “unique body temp/p.H./mood/starsign” whatever. The pigment changes on oxidation and the same product ends up the same colour on anyone, it just looks different because of own skintones or underlying lip colour. What is different though is the concentration of pigment in each product. (My favourite is the Dior Lip Glow which seems to have less pigment so you get a more natural rose-flush pink tint on the lips as opposed to a bright fuchsia.)

The Etude House one looks blue in the tube which is a tie-in with the slight minty fresh sensation which you’ll feel on application. The texture of the product is quite slippery with a shine but not glossy or glittery. It feels like a thin lipbalm. Go through to the Etude House website and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you’ll see images of the product on various different people.

The packaging is cheap but cheerful and it’s only 5500won so worth a look if you want to try or like colour change tints. My favourite thing is actually the outer cardboard box which is silver and multi-colour foiled.

I got this a while ago and I love the color changing factor. It looks great on me. But it dried out my lips pretty badly.

Yes, I found this too. On me, I think it’s because the texture is too thin and slides off quickly leaving me lips exposed. I much prefer Dior Lip Glow, despite its high price tag.
