STILA Spring 2008 Pearl eyeshadow palette
First looks at the new Stila Spring collection Pearl palette! This wasn’t on my to buy list but then my local Stila counter sent me a mailer on the new collection and I felt compelled to go and take a closer look.
The palette is soooo gorgeous. The packaging has mother-of-pearl segments on the lid and the case is slimline and sleek with a mirror on the inside. There’s no included applicator, which I don’t care about but might be a pain if you want to take it out and about with you.
The shadows are the great pigmented, soft, smooth texture we’ve come to expect of most Stila eyeshadows. All the shades are shimmer, with no chunky glitter. The palest shade is a pale gold shade on the skin. I love the colour combination but it’s not the most idiot-proof selection which might scare off some people but overall I think it’s great for spring. I’m really pleased with it and think it’s so pretty. The palette was the only thing I got from the collection. I tried the pearl lipglosses which were pretty – I almost got the peach coloured one. However they’re quite pricey and I’m trying to stay away from high-end lipglosses at the moment. The pomegranate cheek stain is a nice colour but I’m not a fan of the pen applicator. The smudge pot in pomegranate is beautiful: a really unique shade of shimmery plummy red. There’s also a new dual ended Convertible Mascara which seems to be Stila’s entry into the “tube” mascara arena (like the Kiss Me/Clinique Lash Power).
Stila eyeshadow fans will love this palette and I’m sure it will sell out soon.
